1988年北海道生まれ。2015年武蔵野美術大学通信教育課程油絵学科絵画コース卒業。

油彩を中心に、金属箔や蛍光色を取り入れながら、人物をモチーフとした絵画作品を制作している。

活動初期より一貫して、人と人との関係性や現代を生きる人々の心のあり方を見つめてきた。

近年は、「認識」「ケア」「共生」を主題に、アイデンティティをめぐる問いを絵画というメディアを通して探求している。

作品に描かれる人物は特定の個人ではなく、現代を生きる私たち自身を映し出す存在である。

ハートは他者とのつながりや社会における認識を、虹は多様性と共生を象徴し、それらをポップな視覚言語へと昇華することで、現代を生きる人々の普遍的な感情や関係性を描いている。

重層的な油彩表現と金属箔が生み出す時間や場所を超えた空間は、鑑賞者それぞれの経験や記憶を受け止める余白となる。

北海道を制作拠点とし、全国で作品を発表している。

Biography

​

Born in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1988, Yuka Sasaki graduated from the Oil Painting Department (Correspondence Division) of Musashino Art University in 2015. She creates figurative paintings using oil paint, incorporating metal leaf and fluorescent pigments into her practice.

Since the beginning of her career, her work has explored human relationships and the emotional landscape of contemporary life. In recent years, her practice has focused on the themes of recognition, care, and coexistence, examining questions of identity through the medium of painting.

The figures in her paintings are not portraits of specific individuals, but reflections of ourselves living in the present. Hearts symbolize human connection and recognition within society, while rainbows represent diversity and coexistence. Through a familiar pop-inspired visual language, these motifs express universal emotions and relationships in contemporary society.

The layered materiality of oil paint together with the timeless, placeless space created by metal leaf offers an open field in which viewers can bring their own memories and experiences to the work.

Based in Hokkaido, Japan, Sasaki exhibits her work throughout Japan.
