私は、現代社会における「ケア」と「共生」の可能性を、絵画というメディアを通して探求しています。

人は互いを完全に理解することはできません。それでも私は、その問いを抱えながら、自分や他者、社会、

そして世界へ向けられるまなざしを、絵画を通して見つめ続けています。

私にとって絵画は、人や社会、世界との関係を見つめ直し、多様な解釈や対話が生まれる余白です。

作品を通して、鑑賞者それぞれが自身の経験や記憶と向き合い、新たな視点と出会うきっかけとなることを願っています。人物やハート、虹といったモチーフは、固定された意味を持つ記号ではありません。

人と人との関係や感情、生命、多様性、認識、ケアなど、複数の意味が重なり合う絵画言語として用いています。

それらは意味を限定するためではなく、鑑賞者それぞれの視点から新たな解釈や関係性が生まれることを意図しています。

油彩は、私にとって人の心や人格そのものに近いメディアです。絵具を重ね、乾燥を待ち、画面と対話を繰り返す時間は、人が経験を積み重ねながら変化していく時間と重なります。金属箔や蛍光色は装飾ではなく、時間や場所を限定しない空間を生み出し、古典的な絵画性と現代の視覚文化を一つの画面の中でつないでいます。

 

北海道という多様な文化や価値観が交わる土地で育った経験や、平成のサブカルチャー、ギャルカルチャー、SNS文化を身体感覚として経験したことは、現在の視覚言語を形づくる重要な要素となっています。

しかし、それらを個人的な記憶として描くのではなく、現代を生きる私たちの感覚を、絵画という長い歴史を持つメディアへ翻訳することを目指しています。

 

私の絵画が、自分や他者、社会、そして世界との新たな出会いの契機となれば幸いです。

 

Artist Statement

Through painting, I explore the possibilities of care and coexistence in contemporary society.

We can never fully understand one another. Yet it is precisely within that uncertainty that I continue to reflect, through painting, on the ways we relate to ourselves, to others, to society, and to the world.

For me, painting is a space where relationships can be reconsidered and where multiple interpretations and dialogues can emerge. Rather than presenting a single answer, I hope my work encourages viewers to engage with their own memories and experiences, opening new ways of seeing.

The figures, hearts, and rainbows that appear in my paintings are not fixed symbols. Instead, they function as a visual language in which multiple meanings—human relationships, emotion, life, diversity, recognition, and care—intersect. Their purpose is not to define meaning, but to leave room for new connections and interpretations to arise through each viewer's perspective.

Oil painting, for me, is closely connected to the nature of the human mind and identity. The process of layering paint, waiting for it to dry, and returning repeatedly to the surface mirrors the way people grow and change through accumulated experiences. Metal leaf and fluorescent pigments are not decorative elements; they create spaces beyond a specific time or place, bringing together the traditions of painting and contemporary visual culture within a single image.

Growing up in Hokkaido—a place where diverse cultures and values intersect—has shaped my sensibility toward coexistence. Likewise, my lived experience of Japan's Heisei-era subculture, gyaru culture, and social media has become an important foundation for my visual language. Rather than depicting these as personal memories, I seek to translate the sensibilities of contemporary life into the enduring language of painting.

I hope my paintings become an opportunity for new encounters with ourselves, with others, with society, and with the world.
